Winter Phase 1: Week 1

It's merely a measurement of time.
Whether you make it a happy day, or a not-so-happy one, is up to you.
What most people don’t know is that every year, when the weather starts to turn cooler in the Northern Hemisphere, signals from your DNA automatically trigger hormones in your body that slow your metabolism and make you cling to every calorie you take in.
This has been going on for eons and it used to serve us well as this is how humans survived brutal winters.
But it no longer serves us.

If you want to find out more about exactly what this “metabolic slowdown” is and how you can prevent it, well, you already have everything you need to create your "Ideal Body" and life.
Recall that your "Ideal Body" is the leanest, strongest, happiest version of you.

In other words, just do the work.

Now, I had a few thoughts as we start a brand-new 12-week training program.
You are unlikely to change unless you are challenged.
There's no improvement without an investment.
If you want to achieve more you have to be willing to do more and be willing to become more.

One more thing worth sharing with you.
In my 50s I feel as good as I ever have. I'm strong and lean and capable of doing pretty much whatever I want... skiing, riding bikes, standup paddleboarding, running around with my kids, etc.
But, truth be told, I can't train exactly like I did in my 20s.
That wouldn't work. I'd just be sore and injured all the time.
I have to train smarter now.
And you do too.
