How to Feel Fulfilled

And it's the folks in this type of sportive group who will actually “do the work" for you so that you can lose fat faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Researchers at the world famous Karolinska Institute studied why some men and women succeeded at fast weight-loss while others failed.
What they found was shocking.
It wasn’t that the weight-loss winners used a better diet or did longer workouts.
And the leaner people weren’t younger, and they didn’t have “better genetics.”
Instead, the researchers simply found that the men and women who lost the most weight surrounded themselves with the best people and put themselves in the right environment.
In other words, surrounding yourself with the right team is the "secret" your weight-loss success.
The more time you spend around experts and other like-minded folks, the more bodyfat you will lose.
It doesn’t require dangerous "cleanse" diets or nauseating workouts either.
Getting lean and strong is as simple as being on a team that cares about you.
- At home, you might not have any support.
- Perhaps it feels like everyone at the office is trying to sabotage you.
- And you couldn’t find a committed workout buddy no matter how hard you tried.
But none of that matters.
To rebuild your body, all you need is a proven plan and a supportive team.
It really is that simple.
Which brings me to your ultimate goal in life.
Now this may sound strange when 90% of my lessons focus on creating your "Ideal Body" which is the leanest, strongest, and happiest version of you.
But the ultimate goal in life is NOT losing 20 pounds.
It's not fitting into jeans or some fancy dress.
The ultimate goal for all of us?
To feel fulfilled.
How to Feel Fulfilled
You may have set a goal to make more money, boost your fitness, or improve your relationships.
No matter what your goal is, you will never be happy until you feel fulfilled.
Achieving any goal involves some math and science.
Save this much each month and you'll have this much money.
Eat this many calories and train this many times and you'll weigh this much.
It's simple, just not that easy.
Have you ever hit a goal, raised the bar, and set a new goal; however, you still don't feel fulfilled?
Well, it's because you are missing one of the six fundamental human needs.
You have these same six requirements no matter who you are, what you do, or what your goals are.
What are they?
1. Certainty
In some aspects of life, you need to have certainty.
You need to be certain that you'll have a roof over your head.
You need to be sure you won't get hurt, you won't get bored, or you'll be able to do something without pain.
Whether it's your health, family, or finances, you need a level of certainty.
2. Variety
To counter certainty, you need variety.
I'd say there's a big range regarding the level or type of variety; but humans need variety.
In our fitness-and-nutrition coaching programs, we make purposeful changes to workouts every four weeks to ensure we keep your brain and body happy.
One common gym mistake is not strategically changing your workouts.
Whether that's in your training program, in your relationships, or in your career, as much as you want certainty, you also want variety.
3. Significance
You want to feel important.
You want to know that your boss values you or your co-workers appreciate you.
You want to be respected and know that what you're doing right now is important.
It's the small things like getting a thank-you card or getting acknowledgement at work.
It's the recognition, the appreciation, and the gratitude.
4. Connection & Love
It could be a relationship, it could be a community, or it could be the connection with nature.
Humans need to give love, feel love, and be connected.
It's why the strongest part of Arangio Athletic Fitness is not the workouts or the equipment.
Instead, the foundation of our fitness-and-nutrition coaching program is the community.
Our clients feel safe, they feel connected, and to some extent, they feel loved.
5. Grow
This is where the real magic happens.
You don't survive unless you have the first four.
They may not be as developed as you would like, but to some extent you have them.
The real magic is in these last two.
You want to get better, you want to develop, you want challenges, and you want new opportunities.
You want to be able to progress.
The drive to grow and develop is in all of us, you just need to find it.
Grow or wither on the vine.
6. Contribute
Life is about giving.
The happiest people in the world are not the people with the smallest waists, the biggest houses, or the most money.
The most satisfied people are the ones that give the most.
It's not about me, it's about we.
Whether that's in giving back to your community, raising a family, or any other form of contribution, everybody wants to give back.
The six human needs.
We all need them, we all have them.
Ultimately, it's these six things that leave you feeling fulfilled.
