Building your ideal body often starts with the first domino.

But where do you start?

How do you shift from looking like you're exhausted all of the time to feeling leaner, stronger, and happier?

It all often boils down to the "Domino Effect."

What is your first domino that will automatically trigger an unstoppable chain reaction that knocks over every other obstacle in your path to having the body and life that you want?

Well, for many 40-plus men and women, the answer is creating a realistic goal.

After that, come up with a reasonable timeline to hit your goal.

Perhaps you want to lose 10 pounds, or 30 pounds, or even 50 pounds.

Maybe you want to have enough energy, by 3:00PM, to make it through the remainder of the day (without coffee, energy drinks, and other stimulants).

Or maybe you feel "old" and simply want to slow some of the natural decline that comes with aging.

By the way, when it comes to the concept of slowing aging, research suggests you should focus on building and maintaining muscle.

Of course building muscle may not solve all of your issues; however, it will bring you several steps closer to looking and feeling better than you have in years.

But here's the problem.

Too often people don’t focus on that critical first domino.

Instead they do what they’ve always done and think they’ll magically arrive at the body they want.

This is a lie we tell ourselves.

Don’t let this happen to you.

Understand that as a parent/grandparent, spouse, co-worker or friend, the most unselfish thing you can do is take care of yourself first.

Yes, you must prioritize your own health and wellbeing before anything else.

Because if you ignore you own health, well, everything else becomes harder and more stressful.

So knock over that first domino.

Embrace getting into the absolute best shape of your life and use that to lead by example and help others get healthy.
